In the story below, ALEX AND ANI Charlottesville shares how they helped a woman find a special gift for her dear friend of 21 years.

A woman came into our store a few days ago looking around for a gift for a friend. She said she had never been in one of our stores before but she had seen advertisements for our company and seen our products in others department stores. We gave her the store tour and directed her to the meaning wall to see if she could find anything that would be relative to her friend. As we talked more she told us that she was a flight attendant for US Airways, she worked out of Charlotte, North Carolina and was in Charlottesville about twice a week. She talked about how much she loved her job and how great it is to be able to travel, even if the distance is short.
I asked more about her friend that she was buying the gift for as she seemed to be having some problems placing the right bangle for her. She proceeded to tell me about her friend, a kind, warm-hearted person who opens her home up to her on a weekly bases when she is in town for her job until she flies back home. Her friend, in her mid-40s, has been through a divorce and has just sent her two sons off to college, she explained. As she added detail about her friend, I thought of the Pineapple bangle, as it means friendship as well warmth; also the means welcoming and hospitality so it was a perfect fit for her friend whom opened her home to her and hosted her. After going through the full meaning of the bangle and talking about all of the meanings the customer was so thrilled to have found such a perfect fit for her friend she bought a matching one for herself.
