Sweet summertime has officially arrived and we couldn’t be more excited. There’s nothing better than enjoying the beautiful weather in the company of family and friends. We especially love hosting backyard BBQs complete with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and plenty of festive decor.
Speaking of food, pineapples are the perfect summer fruit for such occasions and can double as decorations. Check out this simple DIY for creating Painted Pineapples – the perfect centerpiece…or “wherever” piece!
Materials
• Pineapples
• Acrylic paints
• Foam brushes
• Paint brushes
• Craft paper
• Plastic cups
Directions
1. Place a large piece of craft paper on desired surface and put all materials on top. This will protect the surface and also give you a place to dab brushes, wipe excess paint, etc.
2. Squeeze various colors of paint into plastic cups. Feel free to blend two colors to create a custom hue!
3. Hold the pineapple steady and use a foam brush to cover the leaves with paint, creating a solid base coat.
4. Use a paint brush to reach all nooks and crannies, making sure the leaves are completely covered.
5. Let dry before displaying at your summer soirée.
